How to make a roofing invoice
- Tear-off, shingles and underlayment by the square.
- Flashing, vents and drip edge by the linear foot.
- Decking by the sheet, with photos: customers question it most.
- The permit, and any dumpster fee.
- The warranty and the estimate number, in the notes.
What is a roofing square?
A square is 100 square feet of roof, so a 2,400 square foot roof is 24 squares. The sample bills tear-off on 24 squares, and shingles and underlayment on 26 to cover waste.
What if the decking is rotten?
Agree a price per sheet before tear-off, photograph what you replace, and bill the real count.
How do I bill an insurance job?
Use the adjuster’s units, keep photos, and put the claim number in the notes.
When is a roofing invoice due?
Often on completion. Choose Due on receipt and the PDF prints “Due on receipt” instead of a date. Bill any deposit on its own invoice.
