# Who Am I? The forehead guessing game, in early design

Who Am I? (working name) is a party game in early design for iPhone and iPad. Hold the phone to your forehead, your friends give you clues, tilt down when you guess and up to pass. After 60 seconds you see every word you got.

**Status:** In early design. Only the main game screen is drawn so far, and nothing is built yet; the pictures below are design previews.

The name, like everything else on this page, may change before launch.

## Pictures of the app

- Design preview of a round in English: the card's word and the timer (Design preview — may change before launch)
- Design preview of the end of a round, shown in German: the time's-up screen (Design preview — may change before launch)

## The problem it solves

- You want a party game anyone understands in ten seconds, without reading out rules.
- You want cards written in your own language, not translated word for word.
- You want to play in teams and keep score, without pen and paper.
- You want a deck of your own words: your family's in-jokes, or the topics your group likes.

## Why we're making it

The forehead game is a party classic because the rules fit in one sentence. What makes it work is the cards: words people know, in the language they speak at home. The plan is to write every deck in its own language rather than translate one deck five times, starting with German.

## Planned features

What the first version is planned to do. Nothing is built yet, and the plan may change.

- The forehead round: tilt down when you guess and up to pass, or tap; a countdown, a timer and a buzz for each card.
- 20 decks of 60 cards in each language, 1,200 cards, written in that language.
- Results for 1 to 4 teams, which you can rename.
- Rounds from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
- Decks of your own.
- On iPad too, with big buttons.

## Who it’s for

Parents and hosts who want a group playing right away with no setup, at a family evening or a party.

- At a family evening, a parent picks a deck and holds the phone up, and the first player has 60 seconds to guess as many words as they can.
- At a party, two teams take turns, and the results show each team's words at the end.
- A host writes a deck of the group's in-jokes before friends come over.
- A German-speaking family plays in German, and a visiting cousin switches the cards to Italian in Settings.

## Languages and devices

Planned in German first, then Italian, Spanish (for Spain and for Mexico), French and English. You pick the card language in Settings. For iPhone and iPad.

## Price

The price isn't set yet. It will show on the App Store page, and in the app before you pay.
